EnviroCities 2010 International Conference - Dubai

EnviroCities 2010 International Conference - Dubai

With two-thirds of the humanity expected to live in cities by 2050, the future of our lives and the generations to come is dependent upon our care and concern for our cities. Today's cities witness a residential and industrial boom that lead to increased emissions of air pollutants, augmented production of waste, lack of vegetation, the loss of biodiversity and other negative effects that threaten life on Earth. It is therefore indispensable for all who are associated with cities of the future, to have a fine understanding of the green city concepts, standards and tools to achieve and maintain a safe, healthy and sustainable city environment.

“Green Cities” is a modern global concept, drawn out from various sustainable engineering and environmental ideas and practices like the Green Buildings, Sustainable Transport, A forestation, Renewable Energy and Green Economy.

Go Green Advantages

Go Green gives you the advantage. By recycling you fulfill your environmental, social and financial responsibilities:
Each cartridge or office equipment recycled leads to –
Less pollution.
Reduced expenses in waste handling.
Resource conservation by efficient utilization of valuable resources.
A reduced carbon footprint for individuals, organizations and communities.

Go Green ensures this through:
1
Rigorous documentation.
2
Resource conservationEfficient processes without duplication.
3
Complete transparency.
4
Third party and member involvement in audits and administration.
5
Pro active communication with members, suppliers and vendors.
Note:
Go Green is a dynamic project – a work in progress. We do not claim foolproof systems. Instead what we claim is a determined and focused effort towards an efficient and eco friendly collection and secondary material handling system, which is responsive and open to change and audit. It is your program, we are merely the enablers.

Go Green Events

Go Green visits school in Ras al Khaimah

Go Green visits Jumeirah Primary School, Dubai
on World Environment Day on 5th June, 2008
Go Green, a strong protagonist of educating young children about environmental protection, participated at an event at Jumeirah Primary School, Dubai on the World Environment Day 2008. Students were familiarized with the structure of printing cartridge and hazards posed to the nature by the empty cartridges. Importance of Recycling and Reuse/proper disposal of empty cartridges was made the highlight of the event. Young school children were quite impressed with the exposition made in very innovative and interactive learning way. The focus of the event was to train the students right from their formative years so that environmental protection and living in harmony with the nature becomes a habit with them. The students took keen interest in the program.
